20 Years of Mini's

Post by minicac »

20 years of owning Mini’s today :D

It all started with this brown 1978 Clubman, I had it for 7 years. Look how nice the wings were

My old 1 lady owner Irish 1980 Clubman Estate was brought to replace my Clubman saloon in 1999, I had it for 11 years and it is owned by a club member now. I found it in the Buy & Sell for sale in Louth.

The next Mini was this Irish 1985 City it was originally eclipse blue and was painted this blue, it had been hit hard at the front and had hand made sills on it. I sold it to a friend of mine not long after I got it in 2000. I found it again in the Buy & Sell for sale in Cavan.

I brought this Irish 1980 City 850 next in 2000, it had a RH brown door and boot lid with Ritz’s decal on it, the LH door would almost fall off when you opened it. It had been fitted to the Mini very badly it had been from a java green Mini that had been fitted to a red Mini and the painted yellow. I sold it to a friend and he sold it on to an Italian guy in Dublin. I found it once again in the Buy & Sell for sale in Cavan.

I put a wanted ad in the Buy and Sell for a Clubman saloon and found this brown Irish Clubman it was a solid car, apart from the new OE Rover sills that were stuck over the old rotten ones. I brought it in 2001.

Another wanted ad in the Buy and Sell found this black 1983 Mayfair automatic, I sold it on to a friend after a year. It was brought in 2001

One Saturday in the Buy and Sell I saw a 1983 Primula yellow Mayfair Automatic for sale called up the seller and when they said that it had 7600 miles I was not long getting down to Tipperary to buy it and sill have it to this day. I brought it in 2002.

Next was an Irish 1973 Mini 1000 Automatic in 2002 it was a very original Mk3 but needed a full rebuild, Again it was found for sale in the Buy and Sell in Dublin. I sold it on to a guy along with my brown Clubman in 2003/2004.

After a few years in 2007 I brought this Irish 2000 Mini Cooper MPI with less than 10000 miles on it. I had it up to 2010 and used it a good bit; I sold it on to a good home.

Only one thing nicer than having a mini with history.......and that's having a history with minis :D.
Very nice.
I think we have that Irish '73 auto at the moment, bought it out of Co Clare a number of years ago.
