## MIDLANDS MINI RUN WITH RTE'S NATIONWIDE SUN 02.09.12 ##

Hi Folks,

The Eastern Region will hold the 2nd. Annual "MIDLANDS MINI RUN" this Sunday 2nd. September.

Ths year will be rather special with Helen McInerney and her team from RTE's Nationwide Programme coming down to join us on the run with their camera team and they will air the Programme in late September!

I have a nice route planned over the Slieve Bloom Mountains with some great opportunities for RTE to get some spectacular footage with our Minis.
We hope to have a camera van in front of our convoy and possibly a camera man jumping in with someone to have some "in car" footage!

**THE MEETING POINT IS THE MIDWAY HOTEL CARPARK JUST OFF EXIT 17 ON THE M7 MOTORWAY AT PORTLAOISE**

THE MEETING TIME WILL BE AT 1PM AND THERE ARE LOADS OF FOOD OUTLETS AND A FOODHALL SO MEMBERS CAN HAVE A COFFEE OR A MEAL BEFORE HAND.

WE WILL BE HEADING OFF ON THE RUN AT 2PM AND WE WILL HEAD OFF FOR THR SLIEVE BLOOM MOUNTAINS. THE ROUTE ITSELF IS ABOUT AN HOURS DRIVE BUT WITH FILM STOPS ETC WE WOULD HOPE TO BE FINISHING BACK AT THE MIDWAY HOTEL CARPARK AT 4PM.

As with all IMOC events, paid up members from all parts of the country are welcome to participate for free.

Non IMOC members can participate by paying the one day membership fee of €5.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get some great publicity for our Club and we encourage all members to pull out their Minis and join in on this great event.

We are sorry for the short notice but this was the only date that would suit RTE in coming down.

Hey Guys, just a bit of an update :

Many of you will remember on last years Midlands Mini Run, that we stopped off in the picturesque village of Kinnitty in Co. Offaly for our half way "Belly Stop", well we have arranged the same thing this year at The Giltrap Pub www.giltrapspub.com where there will be Bacon Baps and Soup available :D

Lets hope the weather is good to us this Sunday!
