Irish 1071 cooper s
HI ALL
JUst wondering what would the value of an original 1967 1071cc Austin cooper S Dublin registered be worth. The car is 100% and was restored 3 years ago and has never been driving on the road just around the yard.
How much is the car worth or what would people pay for the mini.
Many Thanks
Stephen

Re: Irish 1071 cooper s
about the same as what UK ones go for. *but* it all depends on condition and that lovely word "provenance"
have a look at this:
http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/17261/lot/266/
little enough chnge out of 20k sterling.

Ya that's the English market. Mad out with prices. Seen very good one go for 12000 lately.

Re: Irish 1071 cooper s
There are less than 100 1071S Coopers left which makes them a rare beast and the more original the more it will be worth however you will not get the same amount for it here as you would in the UK,Japan or the USA.I would want to have a good long look at it because there are very few people in Ireland that would put the time, money and expertise into properly restoring a Mini.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.
Re: Irish 1071 cooper s
a cracking little car but its the history of that car that helped it receive such a high price... as said above, what its worth and what 1 would get for it are 2 different things unfortunately, i could see an origionaly restored rustfree example being worth upwards of 15k but what it would be sold for would depend also on the efforts to advertise it... certainly would be waiting a long time for it here yet there are others who would pay a limb for such an oppertunity!! so in a nutshell ye could be 1 of the only people that'll get a chance to make an offer on such a gem.keith wrote:about the same as what UK ones go for. *but* it all depends on condition and that lovely word "provenance"

Re: Irish 1071 cooper s
Was the 1071 Cooper S still around in 1967?
I thought they were only manufactured 1963 to 1964?

Re: Irish 1071 cooper s
yea then in 64 the 970 and 1275 came in to facilitate racing afaik.... it could have been on show in a showroom unregistered till 1967 when it was registered, happened a fair few classic's, but its worth checking out...
