Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D
Is it the same mini that was on the "for sale" thread a while back,.... for sale.......then not for sale........then for sale......then not for sale, thats been modified or a new build??
I hope it is, 'cos a Vtec to the same mini WOULD really make a monster out of it.
"does exactly what it sez on the tin" kinda job

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D
personaly it would be good to see abit of origionality because there are alot more possibly better conversions than a vtec... get the picture rolling

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D
Yup, nice idea on paper or in theory,
But there's nothing worse than having crazy power and then left sitting spinning you're wheels while an 850cc motors away from ya the lights

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D
Diesel has been done with a polo motor , very neat but the rad had to be mounted on the rear subframe due to lack of space

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D
peoples peoples calm down hahaha yes armo is doing most of the work but im paying for it
iv still yet to buy the engine and stuff so iv to wait till i get that then the subframe can be built around it
armo(my bro) made up the jig to keep it all aligned and straight and will start cuttin unnessecery metal off
when this subframe is built we will be able to make more and sell them if anyone is looking, if you want a different subframe suppy an engine n box with shafts and we wil make it for you
it is very expensive and time consuming to make a subframe so there not going to be 200€
iv spent over 300€ on metal parts alone and there are more to come so if you are interested in a subframe pm me and il let you know

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D
few bits done over the week,
my bro (armo) aaron welding up the jig to keep everything as it is
will start cutting the subframe up and then just have to wait on an engine to pop up
heres a few pics of the progress
the subframe
some welding
more welding
some more welding
results
still a few more bits n pieces to do on the jig but getting there
its all held together with nuts n bolts so can be used on the next subframe
armo did a great job on it so far, hopefully we can have it finished by next week then
hopefully il find an engine for mock up to get the subframe in progress
thanks for looking and will keep you all updated

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D UPDATE!!!
I think your jig needs to be much heavier than that to insure it remains square.
Here is a pic of Joe's subframe jig.

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D UPDATE!!!
I often wondered why nobody had a look at the raft of 80,s jap own market buzz boxes for a motor, 800cc twin turbo four wheel drive and steer ? or 3 cylinder one litre diesel turbo charade motor . The charade also came with a GTI motor and it I know can make very big power for its size

Re: PROJECT TOP SECRET MONSTER :D UPDATE!!!
The Innocenti DeTomaso uses the A-series engine while the Turbo version uses the CB80 Charade engine.CLUBMANGT wrote:I often wondered why nobody had a look at the raft of 80,s jap own market buzz boxes for a motor, 800cc twin turbo four wheel drive and steer ? or 3 cylinder one litre diesel turbo charade motor . Stephen was working on this conversion before he went to Oz.
