an auto aerial

Post by mini_sprite94 »

can you replace the wing-mounted manual aerial with an Auto one the pops up when you turn the radio on? if so how hard would it be to wire it up?

I used to have one fitted to a mini years ago, from memory it had to be mounted further back the wing as to mount it in the original hole would have meant the innards would have been hitting the front wheel within the arch.

The feed to the Ariel is taken from the radio so not hard to wire up.

On a side topic of this, anyone know where you can get one of the aerials that sticks to the inside of the glass? Is it a case of just getting one, mounting it and then hooking it into the back of the radio? Mine currently doesn't have one and I am missing the radio, my ipod tunes are quite old...

RING do an inside aerial that sticks to the inside of the screen (or sits on top of the dash after the tiny sticky pads come away), I have one in my mini for a few years now and when I had a stereo in the car it worked perfectly!
