Loosing water
Every time (every 2 weeks or so = 100 miles) I check the water level in the radiator it takes about 2 pints. Is this common? I don't know where the water's going.

Put cardboard under d car Wen u park it up for the nite.... check it nxt day... try keep it out of d rain. As. U no y. Haha... leaky rad or pipes. Check thermostat housing. Dats all I can tink of mate hope it helps

also worthwhile checking the heater matrix as it could be leaking through that

Deffo not normal.If its not leaking out it could mean its leaking into the engine. Possable head gasket failure, any overheating or smoke/steam from the exhaust?

check the oil for water... . its either leaking out or leaking in....

the bearing might be on its way out on the water pump,
If it is, water will weep out through the little hole under the pump and get blown out through the rad or evaporate off it

If your happy you didn't overheat the engine then just get the gasket changed. If you did overheat it (boiling steam) the head will need a skim. Should only take a couple of hours.

just to be safe get the head skimmed anyway, 1 hour job and then its fairly easy on a mini, get a gasket kit from ur motor factors, bout 30 to 40 quid, and do everything mate, get a good gasket sealer too. bout 5 euro, that kit includes a copper head gasket, and should take bout 2 hours to complete, i did one myself and i dont even own a rachet set hahaha

You don't need sealer on a head gasket, but you do need a good torque wrench to do up the head nuts properly, also make sure you do them in the correct order.
You may also need an exhaust gasket which might not come in a head gasket kit.

A fully carbon fiber Mini Marcos shell weighs just 7.25kg.
