Help Needed!!
Hi when I'm driving my mini if i brake, slow down or change gear there is a loud bang and a judder from the left side wheel (i think).
I checked engine mountings, they are good.
Any idea what could be wrong??
Thanks.

Re: Help Needed!!
Could be any thing. I had same prob from mine. My ball joints were Nackered...could be wheel bearings or drop links. Jack the car up an wiggle the wheel hand on top of wheel and other hand on bottom. Pull an push on it. If it wobbles its either wheel bearing drop links or ball joints. Hope this helps
If it's bigger than a mini it's not a mini

Re: Help Needed!!
the bang could be caused by worn engine steadies and the exhaust,
if the steadies are worn when you slow down the engine rocks and lifts the back of the exhaust manifold hitting it off the underside of the car which might be your bang

Re: Help Needed!!
Is the subframe damaged, Sam? I have tie rods and a subframe if you're stuck.

Re: Help Needed!!
short answer, yes
It is the "L" bracket one that's on the front of the subframe on the drivers side isn't it?

Can you post a picture? Have never seen the subframe break there before, what condition are the rubbers in?
