Help with surface rust.

hi all can someone help me with surface rust my mini is starting to get it now after i sanded to get it ready for paint but the person painting it cant do it until the summer can someone tell me a good way of keeping the rust away? or is there away?

please HELP!!!

im getting worried!!!!!!!!

Did you just leave it bare metal or have you put any primer on it yet ?

good bit of it is in bare metal and i there is no primer on it yet because panels need to be changed

I'm no expert on painting, but any bare metal on your Mini will rust in no time.

I would suggest that you remove the surface rust by whatever is your preferred method, wire brush/sanding disc/rhino pad , wipe the panel clean with a tack rag and apply a coat of primer or etch primer and let it dry.
When it comes to repairing/replacing any panels then it is just a case of removing the primer from the area of the weld.

You can get it in your local autofactors, spray on or brush on.

Havn't a clue on cost I'm afraid.
