i recently purchased two minis one a shell and one complete. one i am converting to rear wheel drive using a mid mounted bike engine. but my problem is that the shell has only a vin number i dont know the reg i have been on to all the registration offices the one here in sligo and the head office in shannon and they dont have this vin on there system can anyone help me where do i go from here to find out the reg of this car and get a log book for it?

i dont know cause i dont know the reg all i have is the chasis number. its a mk3 onwards shell as the door hinges are internal and the only other markings on it are one limited edition stickers on each quarter panel

i dont know its a bare shell and the only markings on it is them stickers and the chasis number

Before you go to all that hassle, have you found anyone who will insure your mid-mounted bike engined Mini ?
A fully carbon fiber Mini Marcos shell weighs just 7.25kg.

ya two or three different companys and a friend of the family is high up with hibernian. got my engine delivered today

It could be that it's a Northern or UK car that was never registered here and that's why there's no record of it?

Any chance of a few names for the companies that will insure a RWD bike-engined mini, I was looking into doing this to a mini but fell when it came to the insurance bit

If the colour code is CNE then that is (according to Minicolours) Targa Red - 83-88.
