best oil ?
my car leaks oil very slowly and i asked my mechanic about getting it fixed and he said since its an old engine just leave it as if he starts going at that it will only start leaking somewhere else.
so I'm here to ask what is the best engine oil for a 1275 ?
can i just use normal engine oil or is there better stuff than on shelf stuff ?

20W50 oil is what you need for the Mini engine.

Re: best oil ?
Halfrauds do their own 20w50 if you're looking for the cheaper route, although it's not that much cheaper

Re: best oil ?
good point billy . so its all in the additives and not brand or price. personal choice too. just change the oil often.

Re: best oil ?
I dont rate castrol at all, its was always well over priced and then they started the 4l bottle tripe on their normal range.

Re: best oil ?
most all oils and additives will be reduced in size and or contents. but price will stay the same . we are in a recession so retail is not to up price but lower contents . price goes up nobody buys but if price stays same most consumers wont cop on till they bought the product.

Re: best oil ?
They changed to 4l years ago and they can keep it. I prefer Millers anyway.

Re: best oil ?
I used to use Duckhams 20w50 mineral oil religiously, reason being, it was a good oil, it was easily available to me and it was quite cheap for me aswell,
since I've had my engine done again I have been using Millers semi synthetic CTV 20w50
