heartbreaker :(
so i got my beautiful car (onions) on the 15th of december just gone...it had my heart broken within days, didnt want to face facts and give it back to be fixed but then Stephens day rolled around and she broke down at the Beacon junction in Sandyford got her back to Bray eventually and then she went back to the chap i bought it off...have it back now but still not right, have the nct'd booked for 15th of Feb but terrified it wont pass :'( would love some advice on how to keep the car in top condition i also want to get involved in the mini runs aswell, can anyone join in or do you have to be a member??
anyway...
meet onions
Don't mind the gear stick...it came with the car, i plan on getting a new one!!
The other half got me a sub for christmas, its a 10" 750 watt sitting nicely in the boot havent got a pic of it yet though!

Re: heartbreaker :(
dnt panic if u leave it with bert it will be 150% nice little car too best of luck with it
Re: heartbreaker :(
The altenator is a handy fix, although it may have just been the AUX belt, which is a 5 min job if even, only 1 nut and bolt.
If you have any issues ask here, minis have been around so long most of us have them years and have dealt with most of the usual crap they give . good news is if you buy a basic tool kit and can turn things and read, you can do anything on these cars, they are great for learning

Re: heartbreaker :(
Welcome Niamh,
The great thing about Injection Minis is that there practicaly self tuning once all the componants are in order. The loose air filter and proberbly the hoses connected to it is proberbly the worst of your problems and bert will sort them out handy. The body looks good so any mechanical problems at the NCT shouldn't be too serious.
Non-members are welcome on runs but ther is a €5 fee to cover insurance .Annual fee for the club is only €20 so well worth joining .
Look foward to seeing you on a run

Re: heartbreaker :(
Your car is lovely. Also have given a name to my little red one. It's called "pompom". I am wondering if it makes sense to open a thread about Mini names? Could be funny.
