Brakes?
I want to put disc brakes on Jules when I start rebuilding. Here is a pic of the master cylinder that I removed from the car and I was wondering what I need for a disc brake set up? I have the hubs, calipers and discs I just need to know how to convert from this master cylinder to a servo type.

Re: Brakes?
you do know that you don't HAVE to have a servo?
Infact personally I prefer the feel of my brakes without a servo, so I took mine out

Re: Brakes?
The master cylinder you have for your car is known as the yellow band dual system master cylinder, this was first fitted around late 1977 on the then drum braked minis. It continued in use along with a couple of derivatives of the same system until the arrival of the Servo as standard on the mini in 1988. In conclusion it is perfectly adequate to run the disc brake set up your considering, even uprate 4 pot calipers if you really wanted to. as above the servo system will allow you to get more brakes for less pressure, but you won't have the full feel of the brakes, and I also prefer to run the mini without a servo.. (it is really only an assistant when it comes to braking, though due to the set up, car that have it fitted have virtually no brakes when the engine isn't running)

Not a million miles away as you say...

Opening hours are going to be changed very soon too as I'm only going to be available from 10am to 1pm on Mondays and Tuesdays from now on...
