Urgent...!

Post by Miniquip »

Hi Guys

Just to let you know that at sometime during the last week my premises here have been broken into and several thousands pounds of parts have been stolen.

I'll try and specify a comprehensive list in the near future, but items stolen include 3 x big bore engines, two of which are high performance motors and complete with gearboxes, one rod change the other remote. Both have electronic distributors and one had a high torque starter. Also a new built 1293 standard engine without gearbox, and a 998 blue printed engine complete with gearbox. Also taken were two gearboxes, one fully straight cut, both had cross pin diffs and central oil pick-up pipes fitted...

Several other new and reconditioned parts have been removed up to around the value of £50-60k.

If anyone has been offered or is offered parts in the near future at cut down prices, I'd appreciate any information that might help recover the stolen items, some of it is identifiable, but mostly not...

Hope you've had happy Christmas's and look forward to a good new year... (I know I am.... this one wasn't great for many of us)

Ian

Absolute scumbags

This is a small country though in mini circles, If they were half ass scumbags i'd have faith in something turning up. On the other hand, if it was planned and organised the parts could have been in the Uk within hours.

Maby put a similar ad up on donedeal.ie, it's probably one of the busiest websites here and reaches all ages in all areas of the country. Also Gumtree, adverts and the classic car and motor club websites/forums. The more people that know and sooner they know, the more avenues that will be cut off for them to off load parts.
(Sorry if im stating the obvious a bit)

Ian,

I've posted this on the IMOC Facebook page. You might also consider a post on MiniWorld's FB page.

Ian, it may also be worthwhile checking scrap metal dealers as anything metal is being nicked all over the place lately.

No numbers as far as I can get at the minute, typical A series, the number never did stay on them too well, especially once they had engineering work done, which all these had..

I could identify the engines, and possible the gearboxes, as I made a couple of mods that only I know about, but all would need full strip downs to know if they were or nor...
