The first event of 2007. New Years Lunch and auto-jumble

Post by The Marcos Graveyard »

Here it is guys, mark this in your diary for Sunday 7th January 2007.

In conjunction with our traditional New Years Lunch, in the Clonsilla Inn, Clonsilla, and to compliment the craic there will be afterwards, (I'm told Uncle Eamonn has something in the pipeline  ) we have decided to have an auto-jumble.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to source that elusive part that you need to complete that restoration, get that blingy bit of chrome or simply buy your Mini an extra Christmas present, (I say extra, cause I know you have bought something for it already  ).
Or you could use the opportunity to get rid of all those Mini bits that your wife/girlfriend/mother said she wanted out of the garage/sitting room/bedroom. One mans junk is another mans gold.

Milton has procured the use of the Clonsilla Inn's overflow car park, at the rear of the pub, to hold the event. It's the same place where we held an auto jumble a few years ago.

We have scheduled the event to start at 11:00a.m., this should give you a few hours to buy or sell what you want before the lunch at 1:00p.m. or there abouts, followed by an afternoons entertainment in our usual meeting room upstairs in the Clonsilla Inn.

So start getting your Mini bits and bobs together ready for the 7th of January. See you all there,

TMG

I only live around the corner from the clonsilla inn. I cant stay but I will bring my mini down for anybody who wants to see it (as it is for sale). Do you think it would be ok in the carpark for a few hours?

Oh, and does somebody have a flasher and hazzard unit i could buy from them on the day too? I think mine could do with replacing! :)

Lads, anyone interested in Minis is welcome to come along whether you're an IMOC member or not. There's no charge for bringing along your stuff and selling it on the day.

Hope to see you there.

As Billy said, the Auto Jumble is not restricted to IMOC members.

The only restriction is that you can only sell Mini parts, it is not a car boot sale to get rid of your old exercise machines/record players/Sega mega-drives/lampshades/and the like.

If you are selling, bring a bag of €1 coins with you and a few €5 for change.

If you are buying, don't be bringing €50 notes to pay for 50 cents worth of drive-shaft cir-clips.

If you are planning on going to the IMOC New Years Lunch and autojumble this Sunday Jan 7th, then feel free to bring along your MTM entry form and entry fee (€50 for IMOC Members, €60 for Non-Members). You can print off an entry form from the IMOC homepage http://www.irishminis.ie

Don't forget you can also bring your IMOC Membership fee. A bargain at only €20 for the year. Remember if you are doing MTM, it will save you on the entry fee.

In case you need them, you'll find directions to the Clonsilla Inn on the club's main webpage http://www.irishminis.ie.

See you there.

Hi all. Got back to Cavan a little while ago from the Clonsilla Inn. First things first... It was great seeing everyone, including a few old faces. And fair play to those old faces for coming all the way from the "Real Capital"... Hope the traffic wasn't too bad going home lads. It was also a great introduction to the IMOC for my 8 week old son, Jack.

Secondly, I'd like to say well done to Eamon for organising a real head scratcher of a table quiz. I thought we were onto a good thing when his son Eddie joined our team. Thinking he may have peeked at the answers over his dads shoulder, but unfortunately he proved to be just as brutal as me with the answers, hehe

There was a great show of Minis in the car park and I felt slightly embarrassed to be arriving in a Fiesta but the Hornet doesn't have rear seat belts fitted...
Good luck to everyone in 2007 and I'll cya all again real soon.
