changing rear passenger light

hi guys is it easy to change rear passenger light unit and if i undo tank will it move far enough to get unit in easily or will i have to disconect tank as im not sure about doing that myself, any info would be grateful, thanks a mill :? :? :?

just undo the strap that holds the tank in place and wiggle it over out of the way from the bottom, the filler neck should come back in through the hole, you don't need to move it much though,
you should be able to reach the nuts then to undo the lamp

thanks macker ill have a go if this lovely weather goes away, cheers, by the way would it benefit me to silicone around the seal under rubber rather than using the sticky tape, thanks again

i wouldn't advise using silicone anywhere near a painted surface, especially on minis since they are prone to tin worm,
why were you going to use it or the tape anyway?

i had just got it back from workshop and the guy who sprayed it had taken out lights and had a sort of double sided foam tape inside the light unit itself but it let bthe water in so hence having to change it, i thought it needed to be there so was thinking silicone rather than the tape, its not touching body its the seal from the lens to unit, sorry bout the confusion, thanks again.

you can buy replacement seals.

could i get them in any motorfactors or does it have to be a mini special or just a roll of that tape and cut to suit???
