Everyday Insurance?

Post by dave38 »

I got a quote today for a 79 Clubbie Estate at just over €1000 from First Ireland!
Im 27, with Zero ncd as i let my own lapse while i was off travelling. I have a current motorcycle policy which they dont take into account and am a named driver on another car.

Im looking at buying the Clubbie to use as an everyday! AXA and Carole Nash wouldn't give me a quote, gonna try FBD tomorrow.

Anyone have any ideas around this? Reckon the quote was a bit steep?

Try Hibernian or Aviva now, i was insured with them last year fully comp for about 400, mind you i am a bit older and full ncd, they didn't have a problem then with the age of the car.

Try Campion Sparrow 057 8622100. I got quote for Vintage insurance (even though car is a 1990) of €225 (3rd Party) + €20 membership to a vintage car club. They seem to insure car solely basis on the age of the vehicle rather and condition of the car (with or without nct) no claims, age of driver etc.
