Charleville Show this Sunday, June 26th

Post by Billy »

The Charleville show committee have confirmed that they have allocated space again for us this year. To be sure of getting a space on the club stand, Minis need to be arriving on site from 11am. KMG is bringing the club gazebo and banners so we will have a great looking stand.

Entry is free for Minis and their occupants and the Show Committee are also giving a free cuppa and sandwich for the driver and a commemorative plaque for the owner.

The Charleville Show is always a great family day out with loads of vintage, autojumble stands, pet animals, bumper cars etc.

This is the biggest show in Munster that the IMOC attend each year so please make the effort to come along and meet other club members.

When did I know I wanted to become a farmer? Good question. I suppose it was just a feeling I had from my head tomatoes.

Thanks to everyone that turned up at yesterday's Charleville show. We had 26 Minis on the club stand and several new/former members joined the club.

KMG was on photo duty so no doubt there will be photos posted later.

Well done again.

Next SR event will be the run to Abbeyleix in July. See Events for details.

As this was my first visit to Charleville I was very impressed with the array of cars and being a country boy the agricultural side was very well catered for.The range of commercial vehicles was as good as I have ever seen in Ireland and brought me back to my youth when I saw Bedford TKs alongside Ford Intercontinentals.Ergo cabbed AECs with Leylands and Ford D series all shining in the sun.I headed off for Billys at 1 on Saturday evening and when I got there we had a little matter of fitting a new alternator to the MPi and we were ready for the show the next Morning. With the trailer hitched on we headed for the show and when we got there Johnny Murphy had a plot ready for us so with the gazebo up it was off for a look around.

Again the gazebo proved very handy for getting in from the sun for a while.

And the great thing about this show is the amount of cars on display that you would never see at the big shows in Leinster. Here is a tiny selection of some of them.

All in all a great show with something for everyone and I for one will be back again next year although we will not mention Billy travelling all the way to the IMM and back without a hitch only to stop coming out of the field :D
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.
