Re: breakdown cover
I'm covered through my Classic insurance policy with RAC and have had to use them once last year, very easy people to deal with!

Re: breakdown cover
Did you try an AXA Classic policy, their free breakdown cover proved better than the AA's for Billy when his Cooper broke a drive coupling in Kilarney after he had been too exuberant on one of the stages.

Re: breakdown cover
WHAT!!
Carole Nash wouldn't insure you with a roll cage!?
I have a cage in mine, front cage, rear cage (no diagonal) and door bars and they have me insured fully comp with all modifications declared for €200!!!

Re: breakdown cover
AXA classic policy gives full European breakdown cover which is great for IMM's.

Re: breakdown cover
Ro, I just renewed and asked specifically and they said you can drive the car in Europe for up to 30 days but the breakdown cover is only for Ireland and UK.woody wrote:AXA classic policy gives full European breakdown cover which is great for IMM's.
Prove me wrong in writing before June 4th.

Re: breakdown cover
As far as I know it’s no longer optional for insurance companies to sell you insurance without breakdown (tow truck recovery) cover included. They are mad advertising “Free breakdown cover” – but it’s included in every policy, TPF&T too. Think it has something to do with it no longer being legal to simply throw a rope around a hitch tow a car any more. I may be wrong there, but I don’t think so.
Re: breakdown cover
You got wrong info. The AA breakdown cover covers you not the vehicle so if you are out on your bicycle and your bell is not working just give them a ring

Re: breakdown cover
Checked my policy, full European breakdown.
This covers this car only when been driven by a person named on the policy.
