Welding...help needed ASAP

Post by seanos »

My new front panel and a panel are due arrive tomorrow from mini spares.

I have an arc welder to put the panels on, question is what is the best settings to use to avoid melting the panels and to get the best and strongest weld?

I'm a but scared goin at it as I haven't welded properly in a long time, any tips or tricks to helpe out with this?

Thanks for the offer man, really appreciate it, its just the car is a bare shell at the minute and i've no way of transporting it :(

Is there any way at all to use the arc welder, or is it just a lost cause?

I've got a gasless mig, no where near as good as a proper MIG, but better than ARC. I'm in Mulhuddart in you need to borrow it, but I'd suggest you hang on for a proper MIG

See if you can hire a spot welder locally and do it right.

I have a mig welder but it is not that portable especially with the bottle and unless you have a plug near by it doesn't like running off a lead.
Your more than welcome to it but you will need to buy a roll of 0.6mm wire and a tip to suit as i'm running 0.8mm and 1.0mm, it may do the job but not 100%.
