A '76 mini would have a single circuit master cylinder as did the cooper S but the cooper had a larger resivoir and a remote servo. It depends on how retro you want to keep the car (cooper master cyl) or how good you want your brakes (dual servo)

Personaly I always prefare dual brake circuits for peace of mind. I run the woody on 8.4" discs without servo but the turbo on metro vented discs with a servo . How fast you gota stop can depend on how fast your goin in the first place.
Probably is diagonal split about that year on the car, I would convert it to front rear split, diagonal split is nuts it one side of master cylinder circuit fails you get to spin if you hit the brakes!! better than nothing I supposed but front rear you have some brakes in a straight line!
Convert to front rear split, and fit or make an adjustable compensator on the rear so you can dial in enough and not too much rear brakes, fit some decent pads, EBC green or in Ireland I think you rave about Carbon Lorriane never come across them here.
I second the front rear split, with a bias valve on the rear, a servo in a mini is a bit of an overkill if you ask me, if your brakes are good and bleed correctly you will have no effort pulling it up without the servo.

post a picture up of your brake master cylinder and we can tell you what you have and also a picture of the brake connections on the bulkhead underneath the master cylinder.

You can use whatever you want, what you have above is a list of options available.
If you don't understand what people are talking about maybe you shouldn't touch the brakes but give it to a professional to sort for you, brakes are too important to mess up.
