Clutch problem
Hi guys
I'm having a problem with the clutch on my '88 Mini.
I think is just the wire that goes into but not sure. Is anybody available in South Dublin ( I live in Deansgrange) to have a look at it? At the moment my car is parked at my workplace in Sandyford as I'm not able to drive it without damaging the gears
Another small problem is that the push botton on the driver door handle does't work, it looks it is broken internally on the door.
If I was going to buy from a website which part would be? Or I have to buy a full handle?
Any help/advise is appreciate it
Thanks
Giovanni

Re: Clutch problem
Please explain further about the wire to the clutch, not sure what you mean here as there is no wire to the clutch, the clutch is hydralically opperated, what are the problems you are experiencing. As for the door latch, remove the inner door card and check that the lever from the lock to the latch is still attached.
Re: Clutch problem
Hi GTM
bit clueless here, i thought it wasn't hydraulically operated.
Anyway the pedal is not on the floor level, it is fully operational but no clutch available to change the gears.
For the door the lever is attached but I can see that the plastic part coming from the button inside is broken. Do I need to replace the all handle?
Thanks again for the advise

Re: Clutch problem
Sounds like you have snapped either the bolt that holds the slaves mount to the bellhousing or the slave mounting plate.
Could be a worn plunger too.

Re: Clutch problem
Is there any resistance when you press the clutch in , if not the slave cylinder may be gone is there any fluid in the clutch master cylinder , is there any sign of fluid below the clutch slave cylinder ? they do have a habit of failing . Always my first port of call with a clutch problem . I live in Leopardstown and may be able to have a look . My number is 0876154540
