As i continue my quest to fix my intermitant starting problem i have found a couple of things i am not sure of.. if anyone can help please do
1.
on taking up the airbox to check the vacuum pipe.. There is a second pipe coming off the underside of the airbox (a red pipe) that looks similar to the vauum pipe it has a push on fixing.. the problem is that this is connected to the airbox but the other end is hanging in the breeze and i can not see where to fit it back on..even the haynes manual does not appear to show it
Can anyone tell me where this should connect to ??
2.
All the ignition wiring leads to a black box situated to the left of the airbox. when removing the main plug i have found the one of the female terminals appears to be burned out. (top middle terminal)
can anyone tell me what this is for and would i have to now replace the plug which is part of the main wiring loom, and also replace the box they plug into
3.. does anyone know of a good auto electrician that specialises in minis ?

By the black box next to the air-box, do you mean the fuse box ?
Burnt or corroded connections will never give a good connection, clean them up with a bit of sand paper till you can see the shiny metal then reconnect.

Hi guys party over and nearly recovered.
There are two pipes on the bottem of the air filter ,one goes to the top of the air filter and the second goes to the back of the inlet manifold. These pipes control the hot/cold air intake that allows the engine to warm up. If the bottem pipe is lose you are sucking air directly into the inlet manifold.
The black box is a relay modual for the fuel injection .If the wiring is badly damaged the injection system has its own section of loom that can be replaced.
