Cost of engine machining

Post by richieg »

What would be typical costs of getting a 1275 bored out to 1330 or 1380?

Does anyone have any advice on what pistons to use, omega or other, forged or cast.
The engine will be used in a road car as a weekend driver.

Are there any other things I should think off and ask about when getting this done?

Paul,

Can you clarify the exchange deal? Is it a straight block for block exchange (plus 185 Euros) or do you want the whole engine?

Also is VAT included in the 185?

Could be interested in this for an upcoming project Paul.

If I supply an A-series, do I get an A or an A+ in exchange?

What would a set of Omega pistons cost to suit this 73.5mm bored block? Do you supply the offset ground cranks to get 1430cc? Again, what cost is involved? What cam would you recommend for fast road use that will give good torque characteristics.. Kent, Piper or Swiftune SW5?
