Let it be known that it is the fault of Billy that I am leaving the forum and I know that there are others who are also leaving. There's no harm in the poll I posted which has been deleted. Forums are a place for discussion and it has been made clear to me that this forum does not cater for non-members. I have only heard from Billy, and as such I can only say that it has been his personal lack of consideration that has forced my leaving. long live IMOC but its forum will not last, which is a pity. Too much power tripping.

[quote="Dilogoat"Forums are a place for discussion[/quote] And what sort of discussion are you expecting to have when you come to a place called IrishMinis you muppet. There is no reason for you to make such a big fuss leaving and blaming someone for you leaving is just ridiculess especially when your blaming some like Billy who puts a serious amount of his time into this club and he doesn't someone like you putting him down. Don't the door hit you in arse when you leave...... you know what, do.

It is indeed, I came here to talk Minis but I would not expect to have a different section for everything and anything, but if there was such a thing it would be thought as a bonus

Re: IMOC
I go away for a few days and all hell breaks loose .Anyway having read all the discussion on having an "Off topic section" I would just like to say that Billy as an elected Club officer has been repeating the Club policy that this remains a Mini only forum for the time being.Any member who feels this should change can raise the issue at the next AGM as per Club rules.

Re: IMOC
Did you decide to just not read ANY of what has been said over the past day or do you like bouncing from one side of a discussion to another? I have not once had to personally insult anyone on here and calling me a muppet just reflects on you. I have said several times over this discussion that Billy is not directly to blame, but 2 of the 3 threads I have created in 3 days have been deleted so forgive me for "kicking up a fuss".StanO'Toole wrote:Dilogoat wrote:Forums are a place for discussion

Billy has put in loads of time and fair dues, I would never take that away from him, but moderators are the only point of contact for forum users and the club. It's a forum for goodness sake...not Dáil Eireann.
- Case and point yet again. If it would be a bonus then why should it not be included. A bonus is a good thing right?StanO'Toole wrote:It is indeed, I came here to talk Minis but I would not expect to have a different section for everything and anything, but if there was such a thing it would be thought as a bonus

A bonus is a good thing but do you always get a bonus? No, so be happy with what you have and I for one am.Dilogoat wrote:A bonus is a good thing, right?

an off topic section would be good but many people on hear are also on other fourm's so is there realy a need for it
but in saying all that i tink dialagoats post about his car been robbed could have helped other people by reminding people to lock up

Re: IMOC
The disscussion regarding this matter in the members only part seems to be running with a lot more friendly atitude and with no personal digs or name calling. It seems to only give more evidence to back up my idea.

Re: IMOC
Have stayed out of this till now.
Dilogoat has raised some issues that other members obviously agree with. He does not have an issue with Billy personally but rather at the forum rules and because Billy moderates the forum as per the rules people have misenterpreted this.
More importantly there is no need for the name calling guys. Remember this is the public section of the forum and tarnishes the club as a whole. If i was a new forum member and saw this it would discourage me from joining the club and turn me away from the forum.

Re: IMOC
I certainly didn't want and didn't expect the discussion to go this way!
Just to clarify my original statement. I did not suggest a pure 'Off Topic' section so that we can talk about general crap. I did suggest that there is a section for people to discuss the wider motoring community or issues that are of general interest to us all.
For example, if I was to start a thread in the General section called 'Your Dream Car', it would be deleted for being off topic if somebody was to say their dream car was a Ferrari and not a Mini!!!
As would a post be deleted if there was a topic discussing Mini engines that wandered onto the topic of BMW engines!!!
This kind of censorship just seems totally unnecessary and probably very time consuming too!
Of course there have to be forum rules but do they have to be so heavily enforced?
I know some feel that this should have been raised at the AGM but considering the forum is not used by all club members and because the forum is also open to the public I felt it should be raised here for everyone to discuss.
