** IMOC - SR - West Cork Run - Sunday July 4th **

Post by moss »

We are organising a run for Sunday July 4th around west Cork including a couple of sections of stages of the West Cork Rally and Fasnet Rally.

Meeting in Cahalanes Esso Service Station, Cork Road, Bandon at 10.00 and completing approx 110 miles of a round trip and return to Bandon for approx 18.00.

There will be a number of road books supplied on the morning but a navigator is not essential because we hope to have cars travelling in groups of 3 or 4 so we wont be blocking up narrow sections and junctions along the route.
This is an interesting route along the coast and should be fun to everyone involved with a planned lunch stop in Clonakilty around midday.

So, all Mini owners, you have now 3 weeks to plan and prepare for this event.

Hope to see ye all on the 4th

For further details contact Southern Region Rep Johnny Murphy on 087-9503913

Moss,

One thing I was saying to Johnny was that there's no point having Sunday morning events on too early because the younger lads will be recovering from Saturday night and we don't want lads driving around the countryside half-steamed. I'd say if we were in Bandon for 11.30, you'd get a better turnout. The evening's are bright till 10pm so there's no panic with daylight.

Update on West Cork Run.Everything is falling into place at the moment, the route is driven and tripped and we are at present finalising the road book.We have pre booked lunch in a well known hotel locally and we will post correct times in a day or two. At present I can see two problems the list on this page has only three names on it where are ye all gone or most important where are ye going to be on 4th July?and secondly I just heard this morning of a chicken chaser run thats being organised locally for the same day so we might have a few of these lads to content with on the route, anyway every fellow for his own interest we are all out to enjoy ourselves.Anyone thats planning in comming get your name on the list.

Thanks to everyone that travelled to West Cork yesterday I think it was 16 or 17 cars we had in total and everyone seemed to have enjoyed their day. We had a couple of unplanned stops on the route, they was a few minis missing on the ring stage for a short while and Johnny and co had to do a bit of roadside repairs near Glandore it was all part of the fun.Eamon had his camera so we should have some pictures shortly , thanks to everyone that was involved in organising this event with myself and Johnny most of all those that pulled out their minis and dusted them down to make this run an enjoyable event
