I have a bucket load of these in the shed, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between them and how to tell which ones are which?

Re: SU Carburetors
Had a good look at the ones I have and here are the three different sizes:
I presume there HS2, HS4 and HS6. All three in the photo have twins so i've been told so they can be applied as twin carburetors. Has anyone experience with Twin HS6 carbs to a mini? Would it be better to fit the HS2 or HS4?

Re: SU Carburetors
twin HS6's would be overkill on a Mini.

What would be the downside of having Twin HS6's on the mini? So would the twin HS2 or HS4 be a better addition? The Marcos Graveyard wrote:twin HS6's would be overkill on a Mini.

Re: SU Carburetors
dont know where you would get a manifold to fit 2 x 1 3/4 su's on a mini....
using oversized carbs like those will likely result in less power, greater fuel consumption and a less tractable engine.
depending on how much air the car can breathe, the HS4's might be better than the smaller ones.
*however* one of the most powerful A-series engines came from the factory using a single HiF44 (a modern version of the HS6), as fitted to the MG Metro
