Question re Automatic mini...
Hi all,
Just looking for some advice about how widespread mini's with automatic transmission are? Looking to buy one in the next few months. Open to any automatic mini.
Also wondering how viable an option it would be to change a mini's gearbox from a manual to an automatic?
Thanks!

Re: Question re Automatic mini...
Welcome to the forum.
There are plenty of automatic Minis out there, particularly in the UK. Check Ebay for examples. You shouldn't have to go to the expense of converting. My own '67 850 automatic did the recent Mizen to Malin run without a huccup.

I just checked Ebay and there are loads available.

I presume it would be a lot of hassle bringing a car from the UK though... plus the possibility that you pay to go over and end up seeing a rust bucket..eek!!

Re: Question re Automatic mini...
Autos do come up from time to time down South but some cars on ebay.co.uk are up North and easy to go have a look at.I bought my clubman estate auto up the North and it has been very reliable since I bought it.A lot of Jap imports are autos so one will pop up soon enough.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.

There are plenty of companies who can bring cars from England to Ireland and if your afraid your going to waste your trip organise to go over and look at more then one Mini. Its not possible that all of the ones you go see are rot boxes, so make a day of it. Thats the way the mother worked it when she bought her Passat.vvxx wrote:I presume it would be a lot of hassle bringing a car from the UK though... plus the possibility that you pay to go over and end up seeing a rust bucket..eek!!
Getting old is a must but growing up is optional!
