mtm (anybody else check their fuel consumption ?)

Post by 1973 »

ok, this might be a bit dull and make me look a bit of an anorak.

i calculated my miles and fuel consumption from home to home.
i started with a full tank in shannon and refuelled when got home.
calculations should be fairly accurate

my car measures in kilometres but i have worked out the miles and mpg.

start km on clock 30058 fininsh km on clock 31448 total of 1390kms or 863.7 miles
total fuel 87.29 litres or 19.20 gallons

mpg 44.98 (i think that is pretty good) i hope my calculations are correct.

total cost for fuel 116.8 euro (cheapest petrol 1.319 in clonakilty, expensive petrol 1.359 in my local garage in shannon)

Started at the apple green garage on the N7 with a full tank and at 51695 miles on the odometer.

At each fill up (we were usually at about half was on the petrol everytime we fuelled up.. (just to be sure) .

Overall MPG from dublin back to dublin again was 44.34 Mpg, about the same as yours.

Cheapest fuel was €1.338 .. just after the stop for lunch on the Friday, and same price again in the big apple green on the M1 (Lusk/Balbriggan exit.)

Total spent on fuel was €119.90 for a total of 88.8 litres

Am now home on 52623 miles on the odometer making it 928 miles all in all.

I did not keep track of it but I know for sure my 850 manual was alot lighter than the Clubman estate 1000 auto I used last year.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.

i didn't take notes either, *but* i was surprised how far i was going between fills... even spirited driving didn't seem to seriously affect it.
