Electric windows can be fitted to all minis apart from MPi minis. These had additional side impact bars fitted and so don't have the clearace.

Central locking kit can be installed to work remotley off the alarm...I have done it with no problem. You can either buy the entire kit or just bodge it together yourself.....

I got the kit and figured the wiring into the alarm system out myself. Give me a shout if you want any pointers !! :)

how did you trigger the central locking from the alarm? i bought & installed the kit and i've found a feed off the alarm that switches off or on if the alarm is set, its from a ciruit used only on cabriolets (!) but the current isnt enough to trigger a relay.... .

I bought my c.locking kit for minitrailers I think....or it could have been online. It came with its own little switching box. No relays involved so I assume there are solid state relays inside as its two small for ordinary ones. Anyway....got a hold of a wiring diagram for the rover alarm unit and simply hooked the right wires into it. Can post the wiring diagram if you like.

Just finished working on a mini with electric windows, it had a kit from Wood and Picket and it was fitted with the anti - intrusion bar fitted to the door. To be quite honest it was a fairly retro fitting unit and i can't see why one from another small car wouldn't work. I believe it also had a central locking kit fitted and was running off her Cobra alarm fob.

And you don't have to replace the winder with a switch? I'd like the keep the winder like in the video, was looking at the kits and the seem to all be switches?

Mines an mpi, so would I be able to fit both electric windows and central locking?

Hi I have fitted central locking and elec windows to a mpi mini before tricky but do able. To have the switches as the old winder handles you will have to use two small micro switches and relays. An other opion is too leaving the handles there and put the switch so where on the dash.

Know anywhere I might be able to get a diagram of anything? Would it be best to buy the kit and modify it?

You will need 2 two way micro switches or 2 one way micro switches and then use to relays to power the windows. Do you have the kit.

Do you want to close the windows with the alarm. We do a kit called smart windows which close thems and also give you one touch open and close which would make it easier to keep the winder handle as your switch but you need a Clifford alarm system.
