if anyone has driven down the collon dunleer road in the past few months you will have noticed a big construction job goin on. shortly after u turn off the ardee road you can see a fairly big grey industrial building. i thought that it was a new council building of some sort but i just found out today that just behind the building, hidden by a hill lives this
its 1200m long european spec track and will cater for kart races, testing and the usual kart hire. I know for sure there will be bike track days organised for it and ive heard rumors about car track days too. i think this would b a brilliant venue for a kartwold style mini track day and its not to far from dublin only 5 min drive from the dunleer m1 exit. lookin at the pics the track just seems unreal. its built on a river valley and has some serious gradients on it. it includes tight and twisty technical sections, medium speed corners, high speed downhill turns, long straights and the uphill section will b a real power tester!
itll b opening in the summer and i for 1 cant wait! im gona chance my arm and see if they will let me test the new mini on it when there up nd runnin;)

Just had confirmation from the track management that there will be car track days! im over the moon! its only 20 min from my house!!!!
oh and the track is 8 metres wide and 1200 m long as i said. to put that into perspective kartworld is only 7 metres wide and 800 m long
it also has a full pitlane with pitbays. ill go every weekend if i can!!!!!!
What Minis have you?: 1988 Mini Mayfair 998, 1971 Mini 1000, 2001 Transit Recovery Truck, 2001 fiat ducato camper, 2008 Kia cee’d, 1996 VW transporter T4, 1995 ford escort cabriolet.
Fantastic, I'll be able to have breakfast before I leave home, maybe even get into third for more than 4 seconds and most importantly get some air to the rad. Anymore vids from the Cork day knocking about?
With the success of the last track day there is huge interest in these days out. This is a very simple day out to organise so i reccon its a good chance for someone different to put there hand up and take it on
as far as i know the track doesnt have the insurance to cover track days yet. if someone is organising a day out count me in! do u have to be insured on the car or can u take it on a trailer and drive it as long as its deemed trackworthy?
I have passed this in the last couple of weeks and it looks near to completion but I am not sure if it is up and running but as soon as it is we will try and get a Mini track day there.
ure right it is up and running. theyve been running testing for karts for 2 months now and they got their rental karts a few weeks back.
their website is also up and running http://www.whiteriver.ie/
So who is going to organise it? The Southern Region had their track day last February so perhaps Sept/Oct would be a good time to have one at this new track.
I asked in Pallas Karting outside Galway (it’s where Ray Cunningham test their cars) and the guy said it would cost €120+ per car this would be with 20, 25 cars. The big costs were the insurance (which is around €2000), ambulance and doctor for the day. He did say we would have access to the full track for the whole day and each car would have a transponder for lap times. Now these weren't exact figures but he said it would cost around that. Goes to show we had it awful cheap in Watergrass Hill
To put it in perspective and perhaps set a benchmark, the full morning in Watergrasshill cost 30 Euros per car for which every car got 4 sessions of 10 minutes each and a breakfast roll and a cuppa.
It was great value though we didn't have transponders.
Yes it could and there certainly will be another in Cork at some stage. I think though it would be better for the club if tracks in different parts of the country could be used as well to make it easier for as many club members to enjoy the experience of a track day.
