Accelerator Cable

Hi all,
Was out driving earlier when the revs shot up. The accelerator became loose so I pushed down on it again and hear a snap. Revs were limiting out, so I pulled in and shut the engine off. Turns out I snapped the accelerator cable. I had a look and found the throttle was stuck open. I closed it down and seems ok.

Now, the problem is that nowhere has an accelerator cables until mid to end of next week, so Im thinking the bike brake cables will do the trick. Has anyone used these before?

I have a throttle cable in my shed. Unfortunately for you, it'll be early - mid next week before I can find it. It's brand spanking new.

Where did you snap it?

right at the pedal. ive pulled it all out. Im going to try the brake cable. Theoretically, it should work!

gear selector cable off a push bike will do it perfect

Bike one will do fine its what i use, If your stuck i think i have one or chat to kenneth Murphy he works in a bike shop.

brake cable is perfect make sure ya use the "pear" shaped end, gear cable is to light!!

do what i do, put ur brother driving sit on the engine and use ur hand to open the trottle, or swop the choke cable onto the trottle, i managed 85mph

i swapped the ckoke cable over to get home one time...... was cool to have a mini with cruise control.
