Fuse box questions...

Hi guys,

Need some info/help

There seems to be two connectors missing off the fuse box, is this normal or what?
As in my previous topic I mention my indicators dont seem to be working, ive replaced the flasher unit inside the car and put in 4 new fuses, 3 x 3 amp & 1 x 15 amp.



Any help much appreciated!

there should be in line fuses to he right of the fuse box, replace them, think one of them controls your indicators

there should be white connections inline with the wires, its pretty much right in the middle of the bulkhead under the scuttle, they should pop open easy enough, maybe with a bit of a turn and theres a glass fuse inside, just change them.

Thanks for the info, will try this 2moro, any idea what amp these fuses are off the top of your head?

i just throw in 35 amp, but someone here will know exactly what it should be..

U could change every fuse and still not fix the problem, pull out the haynes manual, find ur diagram at the back and start tracin. start with somethin u no, like the flasher unit or fuse box once u know the right fuse (looks in sorry state by the way), look at the colours of the wires and start from there, think of ur 12volts as water flowin through a pipe

A nice way to start is buy a continuity (bad spellin) tester as a swrew driver that lights up when it touches 12volts, its easy to follow

like joe said: trace the wiring back. what i did was make a photocopy of the wiring diagram and then i wrote notes beside various components... saves turning to the code page all the time.
*generally* the colour codes are like this:
black = earth
brown = unfused supply
red = lights
blue = headlights
green = anything that works when engine running (ie radio, indicators etc.)
purple = anything that works engine on or off. (ie horn, interior light)

mini wiring is quite straightforward.. it suffers from poor connections, or connections breaking through corrosion.
