Mini Van

Post by Tony D »

Hi, just joined up now. I didn't know this site existed until recently :D

I have a 849cc 1969 Mini-van in need of restoration & was wondering:

Are there many Mini-vans here in Ireland, don't ever see any on the roads!

Welcome to the forum Tony. There are a few vans in the club, but another one is always welcome. There are pictures of a Van rescue on the club website, however once retrieved it proved to beyond economical repair but I think it did yield some useful bits.

A fully carbon fiber Mini Marcos shell weighs just 7.25kg.

That one being rescued is in pretty bad nick alright. Mine isn't half as bad, it's been sitting in a shed for the past 20odd yrs so is somewhat protected from rust! Usual places gone, sills, bottom of rear doors etc. It was driving until about 2 yrs ago too
