where are people going with the price of second hand mini parts lately ,especially doors, be they damaged, rusty, split frames etc, god be with the days when we used to give stuff away....those days are long gone............

Maybe as the years roll along minis are becoming more scarce and so parts become more rare/expensive.

nice 1 dave ,but thats part of my point ,maybe if there was a section for mini specific freebies/swaps aswell ,i know if i had something surplus to my needs i wouldnt mind giving it away or swapping it for something if i could help someone out...

free stuff is always a very good idea: I would not be in favour of making a separate category for free stuff though: probably enough that the thread have the word *FREE* in it?
as in:

Its a great idea but the down side to it is you would get people who would take any thing if it was free even if they dont need it

The days of minis being cheap to run are fast disappearing because the longer they are out of production,the more expensive parts become.When I bought bumpers for the MKII in 2007 they cost £25 for MG Rover stainless steel ones.I got ones for the RSP in 2009 and they cost over £50.I can qoute many more examples but when a new door costs over £320 then any door that can be repaired has a value and a value that at the moment is only increasing so if anyone whats to give me free doors I will gladly take them.

kmg i have 2 old doors off a mark 1 think they are 61 have all glass and handles and pockets in good order skins are tatty you can have them if ya want em just want rid of em dont want 2 throw em in scrap heap.....

cheers.... Oh and ya may change your profile list of cars..... can hardly say 01 subaru now when it sitting in the breakers yard. was up getting a headlight for a megane today and seen it..... Can't believe the damage it did. If the chassis leg had missed the cam it would have been worth doing. Sure thats life i guess. The interior is sold already,
