Hi from Retford
Hi my names Chris and I am a member of th Retford Mini Diddlers.
We are planning to come to Ireland at the beginning of September for approx 10 days.
Still in the early planning stages, but we would be pleased if you could give us some tips on good Mini roads to drive on whilst we are there. The rough plan is to start at Dublin then down to Waterford then to Cork then Killarney then Limerick and on to Athlone before coming back to Dublin for a few days. Any info would be greatly apprechiated.
Thanks
Chris

Re: Hi from Retford
Hi Chris,
if you are going from Cork to Killarney then you have to do the ring of Kerry, or at least the part that gets you from Cork to Killarney
their are some fabulous roads to drive here in just about every county,
while in dublin i would advise a drive up the dublin mountains on into the Wicklow mountains and then on to Glendalough,
I'm sure others will be on to give you their own best driving roads so you'll have plenty to choose from, and i'm sure you might even have a few people bring you out some nice back roads if they're not too busy at the time

Re: Hi from Retford
Welcome along Chris, sounds like a great trip.
Macker you just beat me to it, was gooing to suggest pretty much the same.
Get the ferry to Dun Laoghaire, then take the short drive south to the Enniskerry, up across the mountains taking in Sally Gap and onto Blessington. Then onto Carlow and Waterford from there.
The Ring of Kerry is a must and Killarney is a great place to go out in.
You'll get loads of great suggestions i'm sure and as Macker said you might just get a few of the lads joining in.

Hello Chris,
Forget about September. Get over here for Mizen to Malin (The Irish equivalent of Lands End to John O'Groats) on May 7-9. See MiniWorld's report of this event last year. 70 Minis driving the length of Ireland in one day. We can help you with the best roads from the start and finish.

Re: Hi from Retford
Thanks for the replies guys.
Would be really nice if we met some of you while out there, hopefully we can arrange something.
The mountain road sounds like a must and I was already planning on doing the ring of Kerr,y as we are the only ones to have visited Ireland before I already knew of that.
@ Billy wound have loved to have done the MTM but I will be at work that weekend, maybe another year.
We are looking at stopping in B&Bs whilst over in Ireland does anyone have any recommendations of where to look to keep the cost down?

Chris,
Once you have dates figured out, we can arrange to meet you at the ferry and have members meet with you all at various parts of your trip around Ireland.
