A long winter is ending

Post by iced ink »

Well its being a long enough winter for me and my mini , I,ve being frustrated beyond words to get time to tend my mini .I took the plunge before Christmas to respray her myself and well it turned out about 65% good , 15% ok, 10% orange peel , 5% crap and 5% not done at all , he he he but it was fun and I enjoyed it but I also know its now rust free and in great bodywork nick !!! What I,m after now is the excellent advice of you fellow mini fans . To get a good shine on the car what wax you think is good ?? An d to help it was sprayed original colour and not in a clear coat . Next is to fit her out with make-up and jewelry ( new bumpers and chrome etc ) , then I can start tweeking the engine and re-do the interior . Roll on the long days of summer ...

Don't waste your time polishing it until its 100% good, youll only hate yourself later if you do.

Carnauba Wax is the best for polishing and finish, but requires a lot of elbow grease and hard labour.

Angle grinder and mop will ruin your paintwork, the rotating pattern will only leave marks in the surface of the paint.
What you need is an orbital sander and a selection of foam heads and mops.
