Hi lads
My name is fran or Number 2 so called cos im on me second as the same as me dad Number 8 or eamonn as some of you might know him. Im 19 and have a bzr toyota levin as my current everyday driver for now... :)
I bought a new mini the other day as my xmas prezzie for my self.
its a 1991 998 maroon..ish red with a black roof, not my favorite choice of colors but the car was straight with almost zero rust which i was exstatic with so the Colour didnt bother me. The car needs the few tidying bits as with most minis most important the gear change oil seal and the valve stem oil seals nothing major will get them sorted in the next few weeks and have future plans for the car 1275 conversion or maby keep the 998 with a turbo only the future will tell.

I will post a few picks tomorrow of the car maybe someone might have owned it b4??

Looking forward to seeing you all on spins and on the mtm.

Fran

Right so i got off me arse today and done all the little things you would do to any new mini you buy set the tappets and cheked the points cleaned the ht leads and set the plug gaps and when routing about my dad stumbled accross a set of valve stem oil seals that he had forogten he had and ordered the nite before!! murphys law!! so tomorrow were gona fit them and sort a small hole in the exhaust and new exhaust gasket and then everyting else is cosmetic. Im not mad about chrome so changeing the bumpers to black and the arches and sides, have an old black layland grill to fit and contemplating ruffing back the chrome on the headlamp rings and grill surrounds and respraying them black aswell if that will work.so thats the look im going for black and red. and most important REMOVE the checkered stickers!!!
Heres the pics enjoy

Welcome Fran,
I feel a bit more happier now that there is someone else that has the same colour of Mini as mine...no chequered roof thought!
You can see mine at > http://www.irishminis.ie/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3794
