Cheeper tolls

Post by madjackjr »

With petrol going up 4.5 cent i thought i would help ye save a few cents. For those of you who use the M4 toll bridge i have discovered that if you drive tight to the right hand side on the exact change tolls they only charge you €1.50  . The sensors think that you are a bike  Has worked for me now twice
P.S. only works for minis or the likes

not wishing to blow your thing there John but i believed it was number plate readers that determine the charge to you. Drove though in the vectra and it tried to get more off me so hit the button for help and told the girl and she said "no thats the cost of the toll because your jeep is commercial." i was like jeep??? i'm in a car. she goes "oh let me look at camera..... oh yeah sorry i'll lift barrier." Happened every time i go through and as you may remember from seeing the vectra at IMM the reg on it does look different at a glance due to a wrongly placed screw..... 03-W-2500. The screw is by the 3 making it look very like an 8 or 9, i must add the car was like this when i bought it and i haven't had a chance to put new plates on it yet.

Maybe it just bad luck on my part but always believed there was a number plate reader hence the issue. Is your reg plate clear????

i see as it happens the front number plate on my car is smaller than normal. must try the one on the east link it displays your reg on a wee screen infront of you. Dam thought i was onto something there.

Yea lads im almost sure its a plate reader too because ive a golf van, and to go through and it charges me the goods vehicle price of €4.30..... So i always assumed it was to the reg of the car and how its taxed.
I often wonder why they dont wear balaclavas!!
