Myself and Glennon were talking about Stud after we came back to mine for a cuppa after the Wexford (amazing day. Thanks Martin). I'm getting sick of waiting when I'm meant to be driving so Stud is coming home this or next weekend. We are going to do the gearbox at the house. But we were debaiting on wether to pull out the fuel injection or not? Reason being Stud is a 95 Mayfair therefore still has his N.C.T for many years to come. If we were to but a carb on him would there be anyway at all of him getting his N.C.T disc without leaving money in the ashtray? Any help would be great as always! Thanks lads.
I dont think so the c o for an injected car is 0.5 . The c o for a carbed car is 1.5 to 3.5 .
To get 0.5 out of an injected car is hard enough . To get it out of a carbed car you would need to screw the needle up so far i think the thing would be running on air!!!
I would say so with your chassis number ,but then i dont claim to know everything so ask arround . The only other way i know involves a grinder and a set of number stamps . But we dont encourage that do we.

Just get it on the road man....... leave it on the spi. They perform fine and your only gonna creat issues messing with it. Just get driving it and after you pass your test you can decide where you wanna go with the modifications.

Modifications: Mk1: 998 with flat top slipper pistons, 286 cam, 12G940 head 11:1 compression twin inch and a half SU's 5 speed gearbox. Mk3 998 automatic no mods, 72Van is a pile of rust, , Racer is being built but has the works and the 2000 rover cooper needs an engine again :(
Leave the SPI in stan, Get your car on the road enjoy the fellow and start saving for a Twin cam conversion. That will give you an engine you can fit to the stud which will pass every emission test under the sun and out perform any 5 port like for like It what I would Do.
