1978 clubman restoration

Post by mark g »

I'm in the middle of restoring a clubman so i said i'd put up a few pics
I got the car in england and this is what i looked like a few months ago.
Image

pulled out the engine
Image

Image

Image

Then stripped it down to shell and rolled it on its side

Image

The boot floor was really rusty so had to cut out the rust and going to weld in new floor

Image

new floor.

Image

stripped engine and cleaned and painted it while waiting to do the shell

Image

Image

spent a load of money on wheels and tyres

Image

boxes of new parts

Image

Image

Image

Its gonna take a while to finish but i'll keep updating the pics..

Comming along nicly, but I have to say I never like to see a mini welded on its side, how do you know the shell isn't slightly twisted? I've driven behind a lot of minis that crab. What bodykit is it?

I know it looked terrible with the wheel arches and spoiler moulded in, should look nice with the group 2 arches on.
