Most tyre centres have the equipment to do a full geometry setup but most of the operators dont know one end of a tie rod from their ar$e.

i got a really nice tracking done in ISA Motors, (http://isaautos.com/Contact.html) in Blackrock, CO. Dublin. friendly, understanding and competent. They took their time and did it right. I will go back there again.

Ouch, it's just 35 Euros at Glanworth Tyres, Mallow on their 4-wheel laser tracking machine.

The local tyre Dealer (I don't mean ROVER , Longbridge) at the IMM , changed 4 tyres, balanced the wheels, fitted 4 new chrome Tyre valves and tracked the front wheels , all for £40. They weren't too put out that I hadn't bought the tyres off them as they didn't have any Mini tyres in stock.
I just came across the small garage on the way to the Village Pub to meet the wife on Saturday, after been let down by a bigger Tyre business at the other end of the road.

30 euro, and they used the old "clamp to the rim" yoke with mirrors... I phoned beforehand to make sure they weren't busy, and they did it while i waited: the owner (peter??) was well chuffed with seeing a mini, so he took it for a spin after to "check" the roadworthiness. :)
between them and Donnely Tyres in B'rock (dublin, to our country readers!) i'm sorted!

for years i used to deal with a well known chain of tyre and exhuast "specialists" but two incidents, the latest one when they tried scaring my wife into replacing a perfectly good 200 euro tyre convinced me to shop around.

atlas did the clamp the rim thing with the mirrors.. and i would have been better off doing it myself with a shaving mirror.. or one of those mirrors at the funfairs that make u look about 2 foot tall!
but ill wait til im free next week and i might pop out to them unless anyone has any better suggestions!?

i'd suggest if you are not happy with the service you got, go back to them and explain.... and get them to do it again.. its entirely possible they made a mistake. only fair to them to allow them rectify it: only fair to you to make sure its done right and you are happy?

It sounds like they may have only adjusted the tracking. If it pull to one side then it is more likely that the camber settings are off.

You need to see if the front and rear wheels are in line, measure from the centre of the front wheel to the centre of the rear wheel check it's the same length both sides.

You need to go somewhere that uses the 4 wheel laser system...
Get them to make sure all your angles are whitin the parameters...
Camber angle castor angle and Wheel alignment(Tracking) can be a nightmare and all have an effect on your steering.......
Those Dunlop guages with the mirrors are good enough for Wheel alignment(Tracking) but not near as accurate as the 4 wheel laser system....
The laser system will tell you exactly how your 4 wheels are sitting in relation to each other, Even if they are not 100% in line with the shell of your car they will still steer perfectly once they'r all in line with each other :)

I forgot to mention
You need to have someone operating the system that actually knows what theyr doing!!
