indicator problem!

indicator problem!
hi,
nearly finished restoring my 84 mini city,had to get some eletrical work done as the indicators or lights didnt work.the problem is that the indicators stay on instead of flashing.was told ill need a indicator stalk.is there anything else it could be??
ps.the hazzards flash fine.any help would be aprieciated.

there are 2 flasher units . 1 in engine compartment beside wiper motor .
the one pos giving u bother under spedo head inside car .

is one flasher unit for the hazords and then one flasher unit for the indicaters joe?

karl, the flasher in the bulkhead is for the hazards, the one under the dash does the direction indicators. do the hazards flash and not the direction lights or vice versa?

If the indicators are lighting the stalk is fine. Flasher unit behind dash.

thanks for the reply guys.
was out with her today and after spending 100 euro getting electrical work done,i now have no ignition,hazzards,wipers and a few other small things.
first car so not sure were to even start!

remove all fuses from the fuse box and give the contacts a good clean. replace with fresh fuses of correct rating. dont forget the in line fuse behind the air filter housing. better still fit new fusebox.
