NEW DASHBOARD

Post by 1973 »

installed a new dash last week, just in time for mondello. the wooden one installed was cracked in places and fitted badly. i got a new leather affect one from custom consoles and it sets off the interior nicely as i previously changed the carpet from red to black. while i was at it i also change the parcel shelf and installed the speakers under the rear seat. i covered the rear shelf and speaker board with a leather affect material to match the dash. :)

Lovely mini Dean, were those seats standard or did you fit then yourself. If I had the spanners with me yesterday evening in Mondello, you would have needed a butter box to sit on as the seats would be long gone.Super comfortable seats.Love the dash and the steering wheel too.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.

well spotted that the vents for the air con are now gone.
i have air con on the family car and have never used it
and have never used the air con in the mini. i have always
planned to get rid of it. my problem is where do i start to remove this
here is some photos of the engine bay and some of the components that
go to work the air con. as you can see it is spaghetti junction under the
hood. any assitance is appreciated.

That dash looks savage, and as for the aircon I have spoken to people and they just say theres a days work and that its not worth taking it out!

And do you remember the blue coop beside Mace? It was taken on Saturday and he got his 2,000 for it!!!
Getting old is a must but growing up is optional!

Black Carpet shows the dirt too!!

I have a little car hoover tucked in under the drivers seat which is handy for keeping the heavy dirt at bay :)

Hey I took the air con out of mine because it didn't work its not too hard just takes time. Two things that you need to sort out is you need a different bracket to mount the alternator as the waterpump drives the compressor which then drives the alternator and the there are two pipes that run into the aircon unit at the passenger footwell that leave two holes that need to be plugged up tried grommets but isn't that quiet so maybe a metal panel welded or cemented in would work. These are two problems I have and haven't got around to sorting

Yeah I just noticed the cup holder I want one. I dont like driving holding hot drinks between my legs, although when I do I'm less concerned about crashing then spilling
