Metro too Mini?

Post by StanO'Toole »

As most off you will know on the MTM09 my gearbox no longer wanted too stay in my car so I have been offered a 1275 Metro and I was just wondering what is involed in putting the Metro engine into the Mini? And how would I go about it?

Regards Stan.

Depending on the year of the Metro, it might have a different clutch operating system and a different thermostat housing, but apart from that its grand, it's a common conversion.

Do you know if it is unleaded ?

If you post an engine number we might be able to tell you what type of 1275 it is.

Is it in a car by the way, it's always nice to drive the engine before you buy to assess how it is, otherwise it's just a pig in a poke. 8)
