why why why must it happen
As some of you will be aware I have been getting my GT ready for the MTM 2009 and everything was going smoothly, I have been taking the GT out most days, taking it to work getting used to the car and ironing out any faults.......well on the way home from work the other day it died, fuel starvation I immediatly thought so taking the fuel line off the regulator/filter (on the bulkhead after the pump) I had loads of pressure.
This led me to the carb, wipped the carb off to find some muck in the bowl.
Went to refit the carb and damaged the sealing ring by firstly dropping it and then standing on it.
I then had to use holymar blue to seal the bowl which got me running only for a blob of the bloody stuff to get sucked into the carb and stop me once again.
Needless to say I was not happy, but managed to get home under my own steam.
So as we speak my mini is in the garage with the fuel system in pieces awaiting new fuel filters, sealing ring from SU Carbs and a filter for the filter king regulator.
Im trying to get away without upsetting any of the carbs settings so I wont have to get it set up on the rolling road but I have provisionally booked the rollers at Minisport for friday anyway.
Now im just awaiting the parts so I can build it back up.
"Mini's dont ya just luv em!"

Tick tock Dermot.
Don't feel under any pressure but be prepared for major slagging if you break down over here.

Cheers Macker
My bits and pieces have arrived so I can at least build the carb and regulator back up,replace the inline filters and that should be that.
As a precaution I have booked the GT into Minisport on Frday Morning for a quick check on the rollers then its all systems go for next week.

Re: why why why must it happen
Did some work on the GT today, got the fuel system sorted took it for a run and would you believe the bloody by-pass hose decided to leak and spit water all over the place.
Some hours later and a new by-pass hose it is all back together and running again leak free.
Im off to Minisport in the morning to set the engine up correctly for MTM.

Macker
Its been running without problem for the last few weeks but just as I decide to give it a health check it decides to play up.
Have fun with yours tomorrow, nothing beats taking the mini out for a good blast.
