leaded or unleaded?

hi

iv got a 1989 998 auto and i dont known if its leaded or unleaded. my engine number is 99hb82p0109411. can anyone advise?

Does your exhaust have a "cat" fitted?

no it does'nt, it was made in june 1989 if dats any help mate.

You are around the borderline for the changeover to unleaded. The Marcos Graveyard must be away at the moment, he will know the answer

can you post the engine number? it will most likely be a number starting with 99......

as far as i can gather it should be leaded,
how long have you had the car?

reason i ask is that if you havent had it long it may have been converted to unleaded at some earlier time,
is it possible to check back through its maintenence record?

personally i would advise anyone with an older mini to run with an additive whether it has been converted or not!
