Re: my mini 91 dual carbs!
sweet, well done was it expencive?
be sure to check that as you drop down the gears from high revs that 2nd gear dosnt grind, if it dos grind and is hard to get into gear the synchromesh is on the way out-unfortuntly thats whats happened to me! however its a good oppertunity for something bigger and better!

no shes sound in all the gears,
she grinds into reverse an odd time, but apart from that she is perfect.

Re: my mini 91 dual carbs!
rough enough but she'll have to do....

what do ye think of my grille?

12hd24 1780 from what i can make

before

getin stuck in....

no lumps missing which is always a good sign...

new pads, new discs, bit of paint and put them on my yolk!

pain to get at!

annoyance, got the bottom one off no problem, top one not as easy.

handy enough....

12HD24 is an MG Metro engine, and the good news is, it's also unleaded.

Nice Mini man......saw it up at the Galway Mini centre last week.....

And I said, Officer, I didn't want to be drunk in public...I wanna be drunk in the bar. Now last time I checked it was still legal to be drunk in the bar. They threw me into public...arrest them!

Re: my mini 91 dual carbs!
FINALY!!!
some positive progrees!
the plan was to take out the engine from the metro and bring it over to ray nd hed drop it in.
got the engine out and was ready to bring it over when i got a call from joe whyte.he offered to drop it in for me.this was the way handier option in stead of travelin over back to galway how many times!so brought the mini up to his workshop on the friday evening before paddys day, he told me he mite not get to it for a week or two, which was fair enough because that was the most progress i made with it in months.that night he rang me and asked me would i bring the other engine up in the morning.he got the engine out of the mini that nite.i cuoldnt belive it.it took me and another lad the best part of three days to get the engine out of the metro.i brought it up the next day and stay at the workshop for a while.he let me use the degreaser and i gave it a lick of paint.it looked shocking well.he told me he would have it ready for tomorrow nite(sunday nite)and by his word he did! but of course my luck with mnis shone through and the radiator was burst at the bottom and the engine steady bushes were perished, but he offered to get me the parts with ray for next weekend and hed have it ready for the following sunday.he rang me the next friday and it was ready to go.he even brought it home for me!i got to drive my mini for the first time since i bought it.and it was perfect! it was a fantastic job, i couldnt fault it!fair play to himit really was a professional job!
the next thing that needs attention is the breaks.they need to be bleeded!
heres a few pictures.....
