Insurance Question

Post by 92Coop »

Just a general question before I phone FBD and tear them a new one in the morning

Have people noticed a significant hike in their renewals from their respective insurance companies?

Got a quote in on the cooper for this year and its basically a full 25% extra...

I was trawling the insurance websites like Hibernian, bestquote etc. on Sunday night and I was getting 430-470 comp for our everyday car. When I rang the local Hibernian office yesterday who I already have another car with, I got fully comp for 390 and for an additional tenner, got the excess reduced from 300 to 125. Can't complain.

It might be just FBD Maxi because I got a home insurance renewal from them and it was up 15% and considering the price of houses labour and materials has all gone down I find it hard to understand especially as I changed to another company and got it 35% cheaper than what FBD were looking for.

I have my 3 classic motors insured with Allianz through Classic Car Insurance http://www.cccinsurance.co.uk/htmlsite/index.asp.

The 3 cars, fully comp with 2 drivers and a 5000 annual mileage costs €266.

You need to have a regular daily car to obtain a classic insurance policy.

I was with FBD this time last year and they hiked up the price so I said bye bye went to Quinn and they had a deal on at the time if I got 2 policies off them that they would take the no claims bonus into a count on both policies so I have both cars insured fully comp for about €100 more than what I was for just the Mini on FBD

hi lads good feed back on all the different companies and there quotes but it still doesn't answer what im wondering is there any way out there that we can get our younger members insured even if it only for event days, surely as a club insurance companies can be approached, there is enough minis in the club to get a group rate and be able to get these younger ones on the road even if it is restricted

Rory,

You should be able to get classic insurance for those that are over 15 years old with IVS.
