Funnily enough, regarding oil leaks.... Having a Princess and a Dolomite already I'm used to the odd seep of oil from time to time BUT since the Mini arrived it's not shed so much as a drop of oil![]()
If you did put too much oil in, it would potentially cause a seal to blow.
Perhaps drain some out, ensure engine is cooled down and dip the level. When refilling, pour small amounts in at a time, allow to settle and then dip again.
Might be no harm to drain it all out and replace the oil filter also.
Process of elimination etc![]()

PS-don't hang about attending to that surface rust on your front/rear valances and door bottoms. Prevention is always better than cure!
