Wheel Nut Help !!!!

Post by owlwink »

Hey guys a bit of a n00b question, but I have a set of 10" minilite alloys for my mini rover and the nuts that I have are too narrow to grip the alloy. What nut would I need to grip the standard thread whilst being thick enough to hold the alloy.

Any help would be really appreciated because I have finished fitting chrome bumpers and mirrors and I'm really looking forward to sorting out my alloys.

Thanks a million,

Owl..

Post up a picture of your wheel but judging by your post I think your are looking for sleeve nuts and some of these also require a washer.

I had a mechanic look at it and he told me that it just needed a standard rover wheel nut for minilite, but his price seemed ridiculous. Just not sure which one to go for.

Thats the later wheel nut , comes on the Sportspack Minis, you'll get them from Somerford or Minispares, but they aren't cheap, especially if you have to buy 16 of them

A fully carbon fiber Mini Marcos shell weighs just 7.25kg.

The part number from the Somerford Mini website is RRD1009 and they are £3.13 each.Adds up to a far whack when you have to buy 16.However Minispares do an open ended one for £2.07 each which in my opinion does not look as good but does the same job.

I have got my hands on a full set from ebay for around 40 euro so I'm really happy with that. Lets hope they do the job.
